5 reasons AI isn't recommending your business (and the fix for each)

Being invisible to AI is rarely bad luck. It's usually one of a handful of specific, fixable gaps.

1. Your reviews are thin or stale

Assistants use reviews as raw material. Few reviews, or none in the last several months, leaves the model nothing recent to say about you. Fix: make asking for a review a routine part of finishing a job.

2. Your listings disagree with each other

If your hours, address, or name differ across Google, directories, and your site, AI has no confident answer to give. Fix: make every listing say the exact same thing.

3. You only exist on your own website

If nobody else mentions you, you're easy to leave out. Fix: get listed in the local roundups and directories that cover your trade and city.

4. You don't clearly answer the buyer's question

If someone asks for 'emergency same-day' and your site never uses those words, you won't surface for it. Fix: write pages that answer the exact questions buyers ask.

5. You're winning by name but losing to strangers

Sometimes AI knows you when asked by name but doesn't volunteer you to people who don't know you yet. Fix: grow the signals — reviews and mentions — that get you named in open questions, not just confirmed in closed ones.
